Objective

Design and delivery of fly ash grout into an inflated bag 5m x 5m x 3.5m to rebuild a pillar at C/T33 that was mined but needed to be reinstated for pillar safety factor. To deliver this pillar replacement Tim organised a grout bag, a 305m borehole, and 400m3 of grout and underground supervision.

Scope

Tim was responsible for a FRAS inflatable bag supply and installation into the underground void, a 300m deep borehole targeted to the middle of the void, and the grout plant on surface to fill the bag.

Result

The split pillar was restored from a geotechnical stability need to allow the Longwall to pass safely.
